Sight-seeing and Shopping
China’s open-door policy, instituted in 1979, has enabled it to become one of the world’s economic powerhouses. For almost two decades, China has maintained very impressive economic growth and created tremendous global trade opportunities. Recently, China has become a member of the World Trade Organization, which will require it to lower import taxes and maximize trade and investment potential for western enterprises. As these tariffs are lowered, western products will become more affordable for Chinese consumers. Furthermore, the increase in the number of middle-class Chinese to 200 million plus has made China a huge market for high quality imported goods. With the largest population in the world and a large pool of skilled workers, China also offers excellent opportunities for western companies to source raw materials, manpower, assembly and manufacturing of goods as well as form joint ventures to market and sell their innovative products.
This unique delegation will participate in the 2005 Auto Shanghai: 11th International Automobile & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (IAMTE), one of the largest and most influential auto shows in China. IAMTE is organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council as supported by the China Machinery Industry Federation and the Society of Automotive Engineers of China.
Additionally, we will visit one of the famous Shanghai industrial parks and automotive factories to further understand the automobile industry in China and investigate the market for automobiles and parts. We will also have a chance to enjoy sightseeing and shopping in Shanghai. We will visit Yuyuan Garden, Xiangyang Market, Huangpu River and many more interesting historic and cultural sites.
After the conference, we will travel to Qingdao to attend the 2005 China International Forum for the Development of Automobile and Auto Parts Industries & The Investment and Trade Talks for Business Cooperation of Automobile and Auto Parts Enterprises (CITTAA). This event will enhance our further understanding of the automobile industry in China as well as allow us to explore opportunities for sourcing, manufacturing, joint ventures and all kinds of cooperation in China.
The 2005 China International Forum for the Development of Automobile and Auto Parts Industries & The Investment and Trade Talks for Business Cooperation of Automobile and Auto Parts Enterprises is jointly sponsored by the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (FAW) and the Qingdao International Cooperation Association of Medium & Small Enterprises (SMEs). East-West Development, Inc (EWD) is honored to have been appointed by the organizers as the exclusive US consultant and coordinator for this exciting event, which will be held from April 27-29, 2005 in Qingdao China. During the event, all the participants will be able to learn updated information about systematic policies and development trends in China’s auto and auto parts industries, which will help the enterprises frame their operating strategy for marketing in China and for economic and trade cooperation with Chinese partners. The Investment & Trade Match-Talks for Business Cooperation will provide great opportunities for all participants in the auto industry field, as well as for investors and traders, thus greatly promoting the development of the automobile and auto parts industry for China and the rest of the world.
The Beijing visit will feature a tour of the famous historical Great Wall, Tianamen Square and shopping at Ya Xuan Market.
During the entire trip, we will also attend many banquets and dinners featuring delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine. What a wonderful way for first-timers to enter the Chinese market and at the same time learn about the culture and history of ancient China!
