http://eastwestdevelop.com/trips/EWD_JANUARY_MATCHMAKING_INTRODUCTION.html November 10, 2004 Dear Business Executives: East-West Development, Inc. (EWD) was founded in 1979 in Ohio USA specializing in international trade and consultation. For more than two decades EWD has assisted many companies to establish marketing and sales in the USA and the Asian Pacific Rim. In 1979, we established our first office in Guangzhou, China to supply American-made medical equipment to Chinese hospitals. Since then our dedicated team has built up strong connections with Asian governmental agencies and private industries to expand our business scopes. Today EWD covers many Asian countries and is involved in consulting, sourcing and the marketing and sale of many western innovative products to China and other Asian countries. China, as the most populated country in the world, is emerging as a very attractive and cost effective source for raw materials and products. Chinese open door policies along with its abundance of skilled workers and relatively low labor costs have made China an ideal place for foreign investment. The combined affects of China’s admission to the WTO and the successful 2008 Olympic bid are set to be the catalyst for increased international and domestic business opportunities. With an impressive GDP increase of 10% in China for the past two decades, the Chinese are eager to spend their extra earnings on luxury imported products. The increase in the number of middle-class Chinese to 200 million plus has made China a fantastic market for imported goods as well as for high quality, luxury products made by joint venture companies in China. Due to the increasing demand for sourcing products from China and forming joint ventures or setting up wholly owned enterprises in China, we are organizing two China trips during the first half of 2005 to assist American firms to achieve their goals in China. The first trip from January 8 to 17, 2005 is designed for American firms looking to meet Chinese distributors and suppliers through one-on-one matchmaking conferences in Beijing, Shanyang and Shanghai. An investment tour trip from January 18 to 27 will follow covering the cities of Shanghai, Zhenjjing, Nanjing, Guanzhou and Nanhai. This trip is designed for smaller investors looking for faster returns by investing in smaller, innovative Chinese companies. By injecting western technology and know-how and contributing international marketing experience, American companies will help boost the sales and market value of the newly acquired Chinese companies and prepare for future IPOs. The April trip is designed for US business executives who are first-time or repeat visitors to China and who want to seriously explore establishing, expanding or investing in China-based businesses or facilities, or establishing or expanding sourcing or other China-related business relationships. Trip participants will visit: (1) the two largest Auto shows in Shanghai and Qingdao to learn updated information about governmental policies and business trends in China's auto and auto parts industries, followed by optional one-on-one meetings with industry participants; (2) several of the most important and U.S. business-friendly special economic development zones in China, with the opportunity to meet with senior officials who will explain and discuss their respective zones' investment policies, incentives and benefits; (3) individual factories doing business as joint ventures and as wholly foreign owned enterprises. Please join us for one or both of these exciting trips to learn about Chinese business opportunities in a timely manner. For anyone who cannot attend these conferences personally, we will be happy to represent your firm during these trips for products sourcing or Chinese business partner interviewing, screening and selection for your future China business operations. Detailed information on both trips is enclosed for your reference and review. If you need any additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards,
